Horror weekend

We had Iron Man, Speed Racer, Narnia and Indy in the past weeks. So what's new this week? Unfortunately, there is no new Hollywood blockbuster movie this weekend. But it's not bad news 'coz we got 3 new horror movies from 3 different countries. Hoorayy!!!

There are the Spanish movie by Guillermo del Toro, The Orphanage; the Korean horror movie Someone Behind You; and the sequel to the Thai gore-fest Long Khong 2. Wow, that's just too much...well, maybe not.

Here's the link to the movies official sites;

The Orphanage
Someone Behind You (in Korea)
Long Khong 2

Better yet, here's other links that you can go to;

To watch the trailer of Long Khong 2, click here.
To read more about Someone Behind You, click here.

And not forgetting Cinematical for the poster of The Orphanage. Thanx!

If you do not fancy horror movies, you have other choices like The Superhero Movie and Apa Kata Hati (Malay) which open in cinemas this week too. Or, you can always watch again all the summer blockbuster movies. I'm sure there are still showing them in cinemas.

Anyway, enjoy your weekend!!!

Another Blair Witch?

This trailer is spooky. They filmed it following the concept from Blair Witch Project and Cloverfield. But rather than to have witches/ghosts or monsters, they have zombies instead. Wow, Hollywood. They are getting more and more creative.

Anyway, the studio that will release this movie had launched a viral marketing. Mmm...following the success of Cloverfield eh? But will it works for this movie? I think it will. Judging from the trailer alone, I think this movie is going to do just fine. Beside, it's a remake from a highly-successful 2007 Spanish movie, REC. What could go wrong???

Actually, come to think of it, many things could go wrong. Hollywood remake are not all successful. Just take a look at the horror Asian movies that had been westernized. Only a couple of them are good, while others are bad. But I really hope this movie will do well. I mean, the trailer looks good. That's a good sign right?

Here's the trailer that have been buzzing around on the web. Enjoy!

Cool Dragonball images

Wow. I'm speechless.

It's the new images from the Drangonball movie slated to be released in 2009. At first glance, they don't look quite nice. But on second glance, they look kinda awesome. What do you guys think?

I kinda worried though that Stephen Chow is involve in this movie. I don't want another Shaolin Soccer. I don't quite like that movie anyway (although most people love it). But I'm hoping that everything would turn out well. I love Dragonball's manga and I don't want them screwing it up. I really really hope it will turn out well....

Click here to go to the site where I got the images from. You can have all the latest info from there too.

By the way, I LOVE the look of Justin Chatwin and Emmy Rossum as Goku and Bulma. They look great!

Speed, race & colors

I went to watch Speed Racer with my siblings and cousin last weekend. At last, I managed to squeeze some time to watch movie. I've been wanting to catch this movie since it came out.

I must say, Speed Racer is a candy-coated movie. The first 10 minutes, I was kinda dizzy trying to adjust my eyes to the colorful images but once I get used to it, I was enjoying myself. This movie is fun! The races are fun to watch and the visuals are stunning. It was indeed a creative movie. No wonder it didn't top the US box-office. It is not-your-average movie with animation-like background and cheesy dialogue, people are not used to that. But for me, this movie brings the energy that rarely seen in action movies. Like I said, it's a fun and creative movie.

So, I recommend this movie to those who want something different to watch. I personally like it and so can you. C'mon, not everyday or every year we got movie like this. Challenge yourself and indulge in a world build for speed...and colors!

Go to the Yahoo! Movie page of the movie to get pics like I got above. Thanx Yahoo!

Dawn of the Dead 2?!?

Is this true? If it is, then I’m soooo happy! I’m talking about Dawn of the Dead the remake movie, directed by Zack Snyder, not the original from George A. Romero. It is one of my favourite zombie movies.

According to MoviesOnline, there might be a sequel to the movie. But they won’t be making the remake of Day of the Dead, which is the original sequel to the George A. Romero’s Dawn of the Dead. So it means that this will be an entirely new story. Awesome! This is due to the fact that Zack Snyder and screenwriter James Gunn had changed a lot of the zombie rules in his remake that it will be difficult for them to continue making the remake of Day of the Dead.

Wikipedia also stated that Universal Studios was in talks with the survivors of the movie to return for a sequel. Wow, this is so cool! I can’t wait to see what they will come up with. And hopefully this movie will reach Malaysian cinemas because the last time I remember, Dawn of the Dead DID NOT reach here although they had been playing the trailer in cinemas over and over and over again. I think it’s kinda cruel to movie-lovers like me. Sigh….

Anyway, fingers cross for a sequel. I wish this will come true. I really wish….

Congratz Stacy!

Honestly, I'm not an AF fan. But since this is a famous reality show here in Malaysia, so I feel like I need to post something about it. Besides, we already have a winner. And a good one too.

Stacy has become the champion in Akademi Fantasia season 6. Wow, two female winners in back-to-back season. That's new. But Stacy deserves to be the winner since she gave great performances each week and was one of the most consistent among any other contestants in the show.

One of the disappointment though was the fact that the other female contestant in the finals, Nadia, has landed as the fifth prize winner despite her great performances compared to the other male contestants. I would say that the Top 3 should be (in my opinion at least) Stacy, Riz and Nadia with the 1st winner is Stacy (well, she deserved it) and 2nd and 3rd place between Riz and Nadia. But we had Nubhan and Toi instead in front of Nadia (Nubhan 3rd, Toi 4th). No offense to Nubhan and Toi fans but clearly (in my point of view of course) Nadia is better than them. Luckily Riz didn't get kicked out and was placed 2nd.

Anyway, what happened cannot be reversed. It's all up to the fans, and the votes too. Hopefully all of these new stars can have a bright future in the music industry.

P/s: Thanx to this site for Stacy's pic.

The Rockstar!

I know, I know, it's old news. But I was so busy last week that I didn't have enough time to post anything. Sorry for that.

Well, you guys know it. David Cook is the American Idol of 2008. What a surprise. I know he's good but in the beginning of the competition he was like an underdog. And then he grown and gave great performances one after another. He's truly deserve this title.

David Archuleta is great too. Actually, I don't mind who will win this year. They are both good. I know both of them will have a bright future in the music industry.

The result finale night was a blast! I only managed to watch the 2nd half of the show but it was still worth it. I'm so in love with the Graham Nash - Brooke White duet. It was really nice. I also LOVE the One Republic - David Archuleta duet. It was awesome!!!

Now, for the last time. For more news, pics and videos, please visit the official website. Click here.

Well, the conclusion is, it was a great season. Till we meet again next year. Until then, this is...AMERICAN IDOL!!!

Indy is here!

It's the day Indiana Jones fans have been waiting for. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull opens in cinemas today! Hurry guys, the queue is going to be really long for this movie. It's almost two decades since we last saw Indy in movies, and now he's back.

There are mixed reviews for this movie. I don't know which is more, positive or negative. Anyway, I don't think the reviews are going to affect the anticipation of Indy's fans. I'm sure they are whipping their way to the cinemas in full force. Most probably this movie is going to break the 5-day opening record based on the eagerness of the fans alone! So no reviews are going to top that.

I'm still finding my time to catch the summer movies. No luck so far. Probably I'm going to catch Speed Racer this weekend since it's the one movie that failed to top the box-office so far. So I'm giving my support to Speed. Hopefully my plan for this weekend can go as planned. If not, then I have to wait for another week. Sigh....

For those of you who do have time (lucky you), grab your whip and head to cinemas NOW!

Thanx to ComingSoon for the poster.

Enjoy the clip!

The perfect 4

And so I continued my journey through YuYu Hakusho. I’m now at volume 4. Still a long way to go. The plot is getting more interesting and complicated. Mmm…I like it!
The half part of the manga showed the exam (or battle) to determine who will become the apprentice to the great Genkai. No surprise here. I’m sure everyone knows who will win this. Then the next half of the manga showed Urameshi and Kuwabara team up with Kurama and Hiei to face the 4 evil leaders that had been causing chaos in the human world. Well, actually it was not chaos, more like small disturbances. Some evil leaders…heh.
What I’m so excited about this volume is the assemble of the main characters to form a team (a strong one too) and also, most importantly, to see Kurama in action for the first time! Gotta love that rose whip. I wish I had one (…chuckles).
I know I’m a little slow in finishing this manga but I had so many things to do, and so many other mangas to read! I just hope I won’t get broke by overspending on these mangas.
Okay, time to buy volume 5.

Who will be your next American Idol?

This is like the biggest event of the year. I'm trembling with excitement. Who will be the next American Idol? OMG, I don't have a clue. They are both equally good. They are both talented in their own way. Who will it be?!?

David Archuleta sang "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me" by Elton John (Clive Davis's song choice), "In This Moment" written by Ryan Gillmor (new song) and "Imagine" by John Lennon (contestant's song choice).

David Cook sang "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" by U2 (Clive Davis's song choice), "Dream Big" written by Emily Shackelton (new song) and "The World I Know" by Collective Soul (contestant's song choice).

I'm happy for both of them. I know they both will make it big once they come out from American Idol.

Thanx to Rickey for the screen shots. You can also listen and download the mp3 files of the two Davids performances from the finale on that site, and they also got videos. Sweet! Thanx again Rickey!!!

I can't wait to see who will bag the title this year. The Rock Star Cook? Or the Melodic Singer Archuleta? Tomorrow we will find out....

Pink (is) not dead!

It’s been awhile since I last heard about Pink. She’s still around right?

I’m Not Dead is so far the only album from Pink that I bought. It’s not like I don’t like her songs, it’s just that her previous songs didn’t convinced me enough to buy her albums. Besides, I was in a really tight budget back then so I had to pick the albums that I want to buy carefully so that they worth every penny that I spent on them.

This album contains 15 tracks including the bonus track for international release, Fingers, and a hidden track which she performed with her dad, I Have Seen The Rain. Some of my favourite tracks are Long Way To Happy (I really really LOVE this song!), Leave Me Alone (I’m Lonely), U + Ur Hand, Conversations With My 13 Year Old Self and of course, Who Knew. In fact, Who Knew is the reason that I rushed to the music store to buy this album. I was really moved by the song. I’m also glad to find that the lyrics to all of the songs (except for the bonus and hidden tracks) are included in the leaflet.

I think you guys should visit the page for this album in Wikipedia to know more about the songs. I really enjoy reading the article. Click here to go to that page.

Here’s the MV for her single U + Ur Hand. For those who like Pink but didn’t buy this album yet, well, shame on you. It has been in the music store for ages now waiting for you. This album is worth every penny. So go buy it…NOW!

By the way, thanx to Christian Walser for the video. Enjoy!

The trailer for Mummy 3 is here!

OMG, this is so exciting! Finally, the trailer for The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor is here. I'm so looking forward to this.

You can see that there are lots and lots of action in the trailer. Well, I hope they did not forget to incorporated a good story in the movie too. If not, it will be just another action-filled-brain-dead movie.

You can check out the trailer at Rob Cohen's blog. You can also get the latest update on the movie too.

Thanx to MoviesOnline for the great pics. Check out the websites for more pics of the movie okay.

Cheers to the mummy!

Last girl standing: Syesha Mercado

Syesha Mercado has been eliminated from AI and leaving the two Davids, Archuleta and Cook to battle it out one more round next week to determine who will be the winner.

I know everyone kinda expecting that Syesha will be out, I know I was. It's not that she got no talent, I mean all three of them are great. I like their performances. But let face it, the fanbase for both Davids are too big compared to hers. We can see that she's been struggling every single week and finally she's out. But she's great, and I hope this show will kickstart her long-lasting career.

So guys, you got your final two here. Any guess who will be crowned the next American Idol?

For more news, please visit the official website of American Idol. Please click here.

Welcome home!

We already have our Top 2 for the AI finals next week, but more on that tomorrow.

Here are the pics from the Top 3 Homecoming events. The fans were swarming around to see their Idols, they were so many of them they looked like ants! But I bet the Idols enjoyed every moment of it. They looked happy and joyful compared to the moments when they were receiving comments from the judges. Good for them! This is their time to relax and enjoy the attention.

For more of the Homecoming pics, please visit the official website. Just click here to go there.

Can't wait for the finals!

Finally....

Finally, I got my 1st comment! Yay! (I know, lame...)

Thank u so much to Fio for the comment. Please visit her blog to see what she's about.

And thank you too to this great site for the adorable wallpaper of Spongebob Squarepants.

I hope more people will leave their comments after this. Really looking forward to that.

Fight for the throne!

Just a reminder for you guys. The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian opens tomorrow in Malaysia...and I bet in many other Asian countries too. Once again, we are 1 day ahead of the west countries.

Go book your tickets now because I'm pretty sure the queue will be VERY long. Log on to either TGV, GSC or Cathay websites for easy booking. Or you can go to the counters to buy the tickets in advance. Actually I'm not quite sure whether you can buy them in advance or not but based on experience, I think you can! Just try your luck okay.

Thanx to Cinemablend for the gorgeous poster. Check out my previous post too for Prince Caspian trailer (under movie tag).

Cheers to the Prince!

RE Degeneration

I found this trailer in Veoh. Just a short trailer of the new upcoming movie of Resident Evil. This time it's an animation movie. Judging by the trailer, I guess the storyline will be based on the game series rather than the movies. Looks like Leon and Claire will be in it. Awesome!

I think this trailer is cool, but too short. I hope they will make the 2nd trailer longer to tease us more. I love the game series, and I also love the movies. So I bet I'm going to love this too.

Enjoy the clip!

Who will be on top?

They are ready to crown the next top model of Cycle 10 this week but we are still crawling our way through the Cycle 9. How sad is that? But better late than never right? So here goes....

Tonight, yes tonight girls (and guys too, I know you're there. Stop hiding please...) we will see who will be on top and become the Cycle 9 winner. The 3 finalists are Saleisha, Chantal and Jenah. Tune in to Channel V (Channel 714, Astro Malaysia) at 8 p.m. to find out. I'm sure most of the population of the world already knew who, so just pretend you don't know okay.

My top 3 for this season are Jenah (love her!), Lisa (hot!), and Heather (mysterious girl!). Unfortunately Heather have difficulty when communicating, and Lisa just lost her confidence. Lucky for me I still have Jenah in there. But then the judges suddenly don't like her much for her lack of personality and for being sarcastic! Sigh.... I think all three of them are great, and given the opportunity, they will be great models.

But then again, Saleisha and Chantal are great too. I don't mind they being the top 2. Either one of them are great for the winner.

Wait a minute, did I just give the spoiler for the finale? Ah well, like you didn't already know that....

Thanx to CW for the great pictures. There are awesome!

SPARTANS!!!

Spartans are coming!

HBO is screening the hot-men-in-spandex movie, 300 this May. I'm not sure when, probably near the end of the month. You better check the Astro guide okay, just to make sure that you won't miss it.

Thanx to this great site for the poster.

So don't forget. It's on HBO (Channel 411, Astro Malaysia). I have here the trailer just to get you guys excited. Enjoy!

What's your plan for Mother's Day?

So it's Mother's Day this weekend. Have you got any special surprises for your mom? I don't. I have no idea what to give her this year. Blank.

I think I want to take her out for a special dinner instead of giving her a gift. But we can't go this weekend because she's going to fetch my little sister from college. So maybe I'm taking her out a day early. Or maybe tonight. It's still considered a Mother's Day gift right, it's just not on Mother's Day. I just hope she got some time because she's very busy lately.

Anyway, I hope you guys are planning something nice for your moms too. Make it special okay.

Special thanx to 123Greetings for the lovely pic. It's a card actually.

Happy Mother's Day!!!

Now, where am I going to take my mother for dinner...?
