My 2018 Top 10 Films ~ No. 5 - No. 1

*Note*
I've actually already drafted this earlier but forgot that I haven't finish it and only noticed that I didn't posted it yet until it's nearly the end of 2019. It's crazy to post top 10 2018 movies when 2020 is almost here. But hope you still enjoy it. Movies are timeless anyway. ;-)

Continuing on from my previous post, here are my top 10 films of 2018 - part 2. You will find my top 5 films of the year 2018 in this post. Did you missed the first 5 movies in my list? Well, you can go and click here for that.

Now, let's finish off the list.

No. 5 ~ Deadpool 2

The aforementioned character in the movie title itself is undoubtedly an awesome character, but don't ever think that that's the only good character in this movie because there are a whole bunch of them. Cable, Domino and Firefist were superb in this movie, and even the minor characters and cameos were amazing. I like the plot better than the first movie as well. I'm not sure what would happen to the film franchise after the Fox Studio acquisition by Disney but I hope they would continue with a sequel after this.

No. 4 ~ Avengers: Infinity War

The highest-grossing film of 2018 and the 4th highest-grossing film of all time as of this writing. Wow, such impressive records. The film made over $2 billion at the box-office worldwide and fairs well with critics too. The fight scenes in this film are so entertaining to watch and you can't help but root for the heroes to win. Alas, the plans fall through and the heroes lost (or did they? - I'm sure everyone knows the answer to that by now). I love the cliffhanger ending too, it's not only left a different tone to the movie but I'm also sure that it left a huge impact on the movie audience.

My 2018 Top 10 Films ~ No. 10 - No. 6

Now that I've completed the top 40 K-pop songs of 2018, it's time to move on to the films. OMG, this is long overdue! Let's go straight ahead to the chart.

Here are my top 10 films of 2018 - part 1. For this post, I will be counting down films from number 10 to 6.

No. 10 ~ Maze Runner: The Death Cure

This movie is filled with emotions. Main characters died left and right, it's just so heartbreaking to watch. It has a few nice surprises as well. I love the story and how it all tied up the trilogy nicely. While all the casts did great, I was particularly impressed with Rosa Salazar as Brenda, her character really shines in this movie compared to the previous one.

No. 9 ~ A Simple Favor

This is a funny movie, and it feels like the movie didn't even take itself seriously which makes it even more enjoyable for me. Anna Kendrick is excellent in this movie, her comedic timing is perfect and she's just very delightful to watch. Blake Lively is marvelous too and she steals every scenes she was in. There are many other good and fun characters in this movie played by a very talented group of casts (like Henry Golding from Malaysia) but Anna and Blake are the ones who did the heavy-lifting here. This is definitely their movie.

2018 Top 40 Songs: My Fave From K-pop Female Groups ~ No. 10 - No. 1

We're almost at the top!

Welcome to my final post for the top 40 songs of 2018 from female K-pop group. We're finally almost over with the list, and here they are, my top 10 songs for the year 2018.

- No. 10 -

Group: Badkiz

On the surface, this sounds like such a simple and generic song but it somehow had such a strong impact on me. It's catchy-ness have made it stuck in my head for months and I really, REALLY, enjoyed the song. It's kind of an upbeat song but at the same time it has a bit of sadness in it. In my opinion, this is a really good song. The group have been changing its members for awhile now (and I heard it has changed it's lineup once again after this song) but I hope the group would stick around for much longer. Stay strong Badkiz!

- No. 9 -

Song: Not That Type
Group: gugudan

I love this group! Even though not all of their songs made it into my list before, I like their releases so far and "Not That Type" is definitely one of their best song. They lost one member but they still going strong as a 8-member group. The company really push Sejeong to be front and center; putting her in various variety shows, dramas, and even released solo songs and collaborations. But I think the rest of the members have their own charm and should be equally promoted as well. I think Mina has quite a few solo activities too but I'm not sure about the rest. I hope I was wrong and they are all in fact busy with their own activities...it's just maybe I wasn't aware of it.

- No. 8 -

Group: Blackpink

The song that became a worldwide sensation and should I say deservedly so. The song is edgy and catchy, and coupled that with the amazing music video, it's really hard to imagine it become other than the big sensation that it is. The group's music style and image make them accessible to the worldwide audience (and by that I mean not just the K-pop fans) and I think that is partially what makes them so popular internationally.

2018 Top 40 Songs: My Fave From K-pop Female Groups ~ No. 20 - No. 11

Welcome to the third post for my top 40 songs from female K-pop groups. Let's continue with the songs at number 20 until 11. Which songs do you think will be on this list?

- No. 20 -

Group: Dreamcatcher

I love this song...a lot! And the "magic trick" that they incorporated into their choreography really makes their performance unique. This is the only K-pop group that has that J-Rock vibe that I know of which makes me cherish this group even more. I hope they would continue pursuing this concept because so far I think it's working for them.

- No. 19 -

Group: Momoland

From a girl group of a small company to making it big not only in South Korea but known to worldwide fans as well, 2018 really is a good year for Momoland, and deservedly so considering how good and catchy their songs are. "BAAM" is taken from their fourth EP, Fun to the World, and its music video is showing them embracing some of the world's culture which I think is reflecting their own appreciation to their Global fans who had embraced them.

- No. 18 -

Group: IZ*ONE

This is the debut song for the group that had been formed from the top 12 final contestants of the singing survival TV series, Produce 48. Personally, I think this is a really good debut song that suits well with the group. It has that romantic and sweet aspect to it that complement the pure and innocent image of the members. They can be fierce, as they had demonstrated in the TV series, but to go with this type of song is really a good introduction of the group to the fans that had been waiting for their debut.

2018 Top 40 Songs: My Fave From K-pop Female Groups ~ No. 30 - No. 21

Welcome to my 2nd post for top 40 songs of 2018 from female K-pop groups. Without any delay, let's just start the countdown.

- No. 30 -

Group: Bubble X

I don't think I've heard about this duo before but I'm sure glad that I found this song because it sounds great. They are obviously from a small company judging from their music video but if that somehow turned you off, then you might try to listen to the song without looking at the music video. The beat is sick, the vocal is good and the rap is awesome, so I seriously recommend you to try to listen to it at least once to see if you'll like it.

- No. 29 -

Group: Uni.T

Born from the singing survival show The Unit, the 9-member group formed from the top 9 female contestants of the program didn't last long as they only got to promote as a group for less than a year. Nevertheless, they had managed to release a couple of great songs, and "I Mean" is one of them. The music video is fun, cute and catchy, it really looks like the members are having so much fun shooting it. My heart broke when they disband but I hope they could work out something to release songs together again in the near future because honestly, they are really a talented bunch.

- No. 28 -

Group: K/DA (feat. Madison Beer, (G)I-DLE and Jaira Burns)

You might wonder how this group managed to get into this chart. Well, they are an augmented reality K-pop group, so technically they are considered a "group", right? I hope this is not the only song that they will release because I can see a lot of potential here. The song sounds fresh and energetic, and more like a Western than a K-pop song, which I think helps it reaching to a broader audience.

2018 Top 40 Songs: My Fave From K-pop Female Groups ~ No. 40 - No. 31

Welcome to my list of top 40 songs from K-pop female groups. Yes, it's 40 songs now! I used to make it into only top 30 songs but there are so many great songs in 2018 that I feel like I would missed a lot of great songs if I don't increase the number in my list.

I tried to be exposed to as many songs and groups as I could, so hopefully I didn't missed any hidden gems. So, without wasting any more time, let's start, shall we? In this first post, you will find songs from number 40 until 31.

- No. 40 -

Group: Berry Good HeartHeart

This is the first sub-unit from the group Berry Good. The song is kind of seductive which is unexpected since I never hear something like this from them before. It's quite a good concept for them, I hope they will try this concept again with the full group.

- No. 39 -

Group: Busters

These group's members are so young, and yet they look so natural and experienced in the music video. I'm impressed! The song is very cute and catchy, and the music video is fun to look at as well. I hope they will keep this cute and innocent image for awhile longer, it fits them well.

- No. 38 -

Group: Laboum

Although I think they have other stronger releases before, I still love and adore this song. Also it's important to note that Soyeon, one of the member from the group, also help to co-produce this song. Impressive!

My 2017 Top 10 Films ~ No. 10 - No. 1

This is another post for archive purposes. Here are my 2017 top 10 films.

10 - Happy Death Day

I had such a fun time watching this at the cinema. Although the time loop concept for the film had been done several times before in movies, Happy Death Day still managed to make it fresh and exciting.

9 - Logan

A superhero movie with deep and emotional story told in a very sophisticated way. I don't think there's any better way to say goodbye to an iconic character.
